for women
In collaboration with the University of Canberra, we are launching our inaugural program with the Faculty of Science and Technology to bring technology to women and the industry.
We are seeking expressions of interests from participants and sponsors from our community, business and industry stakeholders in Canberra and the region.

Program Details
We are proud to present a 4-week immersion and leadership development program in collaboration with the University of Canberra to provide practical and hands-on experience for women in different sectors who are interested in tech industry.
Overview
The program will explore innovation in technology, providing insights into the design, development and implementation of technology products and services. Participants will learn about the creative, social and technical side of technology projects, leading technology projects across industry, government, academia locally and abroad, and various career pathways.
The program also covers ways of working with different types of companies and organisations. It addresses technology assessment, nurturing projects within diverse ecosystems, and developing effective communication skills as a woman. Participants will also gain understanding of the history and importance of technology, technology terminology, mindset, and critical aspects of regulation, ethics, and governance.
The learning journey is supported with targeted career progression planning and post program coaching and mentoring to support you in moving towards your goals.
Participants will:

Develop Core Skills & Knowledge: Participant led and tailored sessions to gain confidence in applying essential skills and tools to succeed in the tech industry and with the tech industry

Explore Career Pathways: Get exposure to various roles, career pathways, industries, and trends.

Identify Growth and Career Opportunities: Connect with industry experts and discover potential career opportunities and learn the techniques to create your own opportunities.

Be part of a Supportive Community: Join a community of like-minded women for ongoing support

Expert Coaching & Mentoring: Direct and tailored expert advice on crafting a career pathway and mindset for success. Participants will receive an hour coaching session to tailor your pitch and set of opportunities
Dates: Week commencing 23rd June 2025, approximately 8-10 hours per week for four weeks (1 full day in-person workshop + additional evening session per week held in Canberra)
Who should join: Working professional interest in tech or transitioning to tech, women re-entering the workforce or final year students.
Your host
Vi Nguyen is an alumni of the University of Canberra, digital strategist and CEO of Ryka Global (a tech consulting firm preparing women for a tech future). She helps her clients lead digital transformations, start tech-based businesses and navigate their tech careers with a passion to support more women in the tech industry.
She has over 20 years experience in digital, starting her career as a software engineer and cadet at the Australian Taxation Office and has since worked at Boston Consulting Group, KPMG, Macquarie Bank, Volvo Cars, AFRY (a Nordic consulting firm) and the Swedish Space Association. She has started a Not for Profit with a focus on education and has led projects in Australia, Sweden and Vietnam.
Vi has held roles in digital strategy, product development, digital marketing, business and systems analyst and software engineer within startups, government, academia and industry and looks forward to sharing her reflections and advice to women starting this journey.
Registration fee: $3600 (includes meals during sessions, a University of Canberra participation certificate, ongoing mentoring and exclusive networking opportunities for 2025)
